2025-26 TRYOUT INFORMATION
- OPTION 1: PRE TRYOUT EVALUATIONS
Should a NEW player with current travel level experience wish to be evaluated by our coaching staff prior to our open tryout week, FC Lake County shall be offering opportunities for players born 2016 and older to attend a team training session in April. The assigned team will be based on each players current level of play and past experiences. This is also a useful opportunity for new players (and families) to experience a training session led by our coaching staff prior to the club wide tryout week.
**PLEASE NOTE: These evaluation sessions do NOT replace our open tryout week, as our aim is to utilize various on field environments to best assess and compare all new and existing players across an age group prior to selecting teams based on current and projected ability levels, technique and game intelligence.
OPEN TRYOUT Details
TRYOUT LOCATION:
- Alleghany Park, Grayslake
All NEW & CURRENT players MUST pre-register for tryouts.
- As part of the registration process, you will be asked to upload a series of waivers, headshot player picture and also provide proof of age if your child has never previously played travel soccer in Illinois.
- Our age group Directors shall send additional communication confirming the specific dates, times and field location.
- EXISTING players are required to tryout over both dates.
- These sessions double as the training sessions for the remaining games, as well as allowing coaching staff to evaluate existing players with any new players trying out.
- NEW players are strongly recommended to attend both dates, to allow our coaching staff multiple opportunities to evaluate playing abilities prior to final decisions on team placement.
- Tryouts are FREE to attend
- Any FULL TIME GOALKEEPERS "assigned" to a team aged U11 (2015) or above within the new season will receive a 40% discounted rate.**This cannot be combined with any financial aid packages.
- Communication on team assignments for 2025-26 shall be sent via email 72 hours after the final tryout session.
- New players maybe asked to attend a session with one of our teams the following week should we need to see a player once more, before making final decisions.

Should a new player miss one or both of our primary tryout sessions but would like to be evaluated for one of our 2025-26 season teams, please contact one of our age group Directors to arrange a supplemental tryout the week of open tryouts.

HS Boys (2011 to 2007) Supplemental Tryouts shall take place after the fall High school season (Oct/Nov). Further details will be listed on our social media pages and home page for these dates.
