Program Overview
Founder of Drive Goalkeeping, Tom Paparounis, directs the goalkeeping program at FC Lake County along with his training staff. Tom models his Drive Goalkeeping Methodology from his more than 20 years of experience in the game as both a player and coach, working with many respected goalkeeper coaches while playing and coaching in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and North Texas.
Additionally, Tom has coached collegiately in the Chicagoland area in Division I, III, and the NAIA for 12 seasons and is responsible for helping develop top high school players who have gone on to various collegiate and professional levels. Curriculum & Training Schedule
Age-Specific Curriculum
Ages 8-10
Fundamentals of Goalkeeping for proper diving and distribution
Safe environment
Confidence Building
Ages 11-14
Technical and Tactical training for shot-stopping and distribution
Emphasis on training at game speed.
Understand the leadership role of the position.
Ages 15+
Organizing teammates in and out of possession of the ball.

Training Schedule
Every goalkeeper at FC Lake County has the opportunity to join age-specific training on Fridays in the Fall and Spring.
Ages 8-10 5-6 PM
Ages 11-14 6-7 PM
Ages 15+ 7-8 PM
Winter Training Sessions are through Drive Goalkeeping’s supplemental Small Group Training sessions on Saturday Mornings at The Athletico Center in Northbrook, IL. More information on those sessions are here: https://www.drivegk.com/trainings
